Mahavir Jayanti (April)

JSCNC celebrates Mahavir Jayanti every year around Spring time at the main Hindu Society (HSNC) Hall in Morrisville. This is the biggest event that JSCNC holds in the year, with a typical attendance of over 450 patrons, over 80 program participants, and many volunteers. The highlights of the event include the Puja being carried out solely by the youth, colorful performances, and Swami Vatsalya dinner at the end.

Mother’s Day Celebration (May)

We celebrate all the hard work the mother’s have done for us every year, venue is typically Hindu Society (HSNC) Temple but recently we have shifted to a picnic format similar to Father’s Day.

Father’s Day Picnic (June)

During this time, JSCNC gets together annually to recognize father’s all over the community in a picnic format.

Paryushan/Bhavana/Pratikraman (August)

JSCNC celebrates Paryushan every year. Various activities are planned including Puja, reciting of Stavans (Bhavana) and Samvatsari Pratikraman. Refer to the calendar for specific times and dates.

Annual Camp (September/October)

JSCNC organizes an overnight camp each year. This typically takes place in an outdoor environment like Umstead Park. The camp grounds consists of a large Mess Hall where many interesting activities are conducted. We invite scholars who will hold lectures throughout the day for the youth and the adults. Apart from that, there is usually a lot of good food to enjoy, fun games for adults and youth, and overnight stays.

Highway Cleanup (April and October)

As a way to support the greater Triangle community, JSCNC holds two Highway Cleanup events during the year. This takes place on Highway 54, near the Hindu Temple, during Spring and Fall. It is a great opportunity for our youth and adults to show their appreciation to the community.

CROP Hunger Walk (October or November)

Join the movement to end hunger at the Annual Greater Triangle Area CROP Hunger Walk! JSCNC supports this community event each year as part of it’s interfaith initiative.

This event is more than just a walk—it’s a step toward providing meals and improving food security for those in need, both in our local community and around the world.
